TGen Bioinformatics Research Unit

TGen's Bioinformatics Research Unit creates software and methods to help scientists use public and private data sources to advance their research.

Current projects include:

  • GenePool - analysis of genome-wide association using microarray-based SNP genotyping of pooled genomics DNA
  • Reannotation of microarray chips
  • Genomic localization of chip oligos and other features.
  • Creation of custom tracks to display data from TGen researchers on the UCSC Genome Browser.
  • Creation of an "antibody hunter" program to automate large-scale searches for antibodies to gene products across multiple antibody vendor sites.

There are also a number of tutorial on bioinformatics and computing topics which can be accessed from the Tutorials link. Topics covered include Perl, CVS, DB2 and customising your bash shell.

Comments are always welcome so if you have suggestions about information or features you'd like to see implemented on this site, please contact John Pearson.
